THE BASICS Window treatments are drapes, the things that you use to dress up your window and help control the amount of light allowed to enter in through a window.  At Arden's we sell window treatments in thousands of fabrics and we also sell shutters.

COLLECTIONS When people buy window treatments they will do at least one room in all the same style and fabric, it is not advisable to mix and match in one room.  Certainly there are exceptions to this advice and it is your home.

WHAT TO CONSIDER One of the biggest factors to consider is "what do you like".  Then you can take into account how dirty will they get so what fabric is more durable, easily washable, or, does the fabric you like have the ability to be treated for stain resistance.  We will always be happy to come to your home and give you our advice on what will be best.

MAINTAINING YOUR WINDOW TREATMENTS Fortunately, most window treatments are low maintenance.  There are specific instructions with every fabric so you will have to refer to those when cleaning.  Dry cleaning is always an option, some dry cleaners will re-hang your treatments for you, some will not.  We will come out and re-hang them for you if you need us.

ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS … keep your treatments free flowing and away from flames unless they are treated for such a purpose.

REPAIR Hanging the window treatments needs to be done right, after that there should never be need for repairs.  If they get a snag or rip you can sew it with a needle and thread, use the same color.  If this happens enough you will just need new treatments.  If you have an issue that is unexpected you can always call us and talk to a designer live.
